After our entry-level 200 and mid-range 320 have revolutionized their sectors with a mix of style, practicality and outstanding on-water performance, the all-new Saxdor 400 range topper is sure to do the same in the 40-45 feet sports boat market.
The prolonged anticipation for a new release comes to an end with Saxdor Yachts proudly introducing the new flagship of its award winning range of sports boats, the 400.
Underpinned by an elongated version of the twin-stepped 320 hull and designed for a twin outboard rig, the 400 is set to be an outstanding performer out at sea with a fine blend of performance, seakeeping and efficiency at cruising speed.
By employing vacuum infusion techniques in the construction process Saxdor has saved approximately 200kg, which improves fuel efficiency and means that even with the standard twin 300hp Mercury V8 outboards the 400 will comfortably achieve a top speed of 40 knots. With the optional twin 450hp Racing motors the maximum speed increases to over 50 knots.
Launching as a Cabin version initially with a GTO to follow, both come as standard with balconies in the cockpit that will dramatically increase the usable deck space of the boat at rest.
When stationary, the 400 becomes a private island, designed for living aboard in great comfort and the terraces, which run half the length of the boat, are a key factor in creating this incredibly special environment. The connection to the water is further enhanced by the new glass transom, which delivers fine views over the stern from the comfort of the cockpit seating, which is entirely modular and can be configured in any formation the customer desires. No boat in the class has such a close relationship with its surroundings.
Equally important is the lower deck accommodation, which comprises a spacious forward double cabin and separate bathroom with standing headroom of over 6ft (1.83m). Both versions of the 400 have the same configuration on the lower deck with the option to have a kids’ cabin underneath the companionway steps and an amidships double for comfortable sleeping space for up to four adults. The mid cabin is accessed via a hatch in the dinette on the cabin boat and via the cockpit sofa on the GTO.
As with the 320 cabin, the 400’s wheelhouse extends to the full beam of the boat to maximize internal living space with access to the recessed foredeck seating via door at the forward end of. Both sides of the wheelhouse open up completely to allow direct access to the side terraces from within the wheelhouse, a piece of design that is unique to the 400 and maximizes the functionality of the balconies once deployed.
Sakari Mattila, Saxdor Yachts’ Founder and Chief Designer, says: “It is very exciting to be launching our new flagship in the shape of the 400. The incredible success of the 200 and 320 has informed the design with this new model, which embraces their most successful design elements and deploys them on a grander scale. This brand has an incredibly exciting future and the 400 is a key stepping stone on that journey.
Saxdor 400 will be offered in the model year MY2024 in selected markets/dealerships only.
