5.4.Fonts & UI assets

5.4.1. Google fonts

We use Google Fonts, a web font service provided by Google Ireland Ltd., to ensure a consistent and visually appealing presentation of text across our website and digital services.

Google Fonts may be integrated either by loading fonts directly from Google’s servers (via the Google Fonts Web API) or by hosting font files locally on our own infrastructure.

When Google Fonts are loaded directly from Google’s servers, your browser establishes a connection to Google in order to retrieve the required font files.

In this context no cookies are set by Google Fonts itself. However, certain technical data is transmitted to Google servers, including:

    • your IP address;
    • browser and device information (user agent);
    • the referring website (i.e. the page on which the font is used).

This data is technically required to deliver the font files and ensure proper display of content. Google states that such data is not used to create user profiles or for targeted advertising.

Any transfer of personal data in connection with Google Fonts is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and subject to appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms).

Where technically feasible, we may host fonts locally in order to minimise data transfers and enhance user privacy.

5.4.2. Adobe fonts

We use Adobe Fonts, a web font service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited, to ensure a consistent and high-quality visual presentation of text across our website and digital services.

Adobe Fonts provides access to a library of fonts that are delivered to users’ browsers via Adobe’s servers when the website is loaded.

When fonts are loaded from Adobe’s servers, certain technical data may be transmitted to Adobe, including:

    • the IP address of the user’s device (required to deliver the font files);
    • technical and request-related information, such as the type of font requested, embedding method, and server details.

Adobe uses this information to deliver and optimise the font service, diagnose technical issues and fulfil contractual obligations with font providers (e.g. licensing and usage reporting).

Adobe does not use this information to access the content of documents or to provide the font service with cookies, and personal data is not shared with font providers beyond aggregated reporting.

Where technically feasible, alternative approaches (such as locally hosted fonts) may be used in order to minimise data transfers to third parties and enhance user privacy.

5.4.3. Font Awesome

We use Font Awesome, an icon library provided by Fonticons, Inc., to display icons and visual elements across our website and digital services.

Font Awesome may be integrated either by loading icon assets from Font Awesome’s content delivery networks (CDN) or by hosting the icon files locally on our own infrastructure.

When Font Awesome is loaded via a CDN, your browser establishes a connection to Font Awesome’s servers in order to retrieve the required icon files.

In this context Font Awesome scripts do not set cookies or use client-side tracking mechanisms for delivering icons. However, certain technical data may be transmitted to the provider’s servers, including:

    • IP address;
    • browser and device information;
    • request-related data necessary to retrieve icon files.

The transmission of this information is required to deliver the icon assets and ensure proper rendering of the user interface.

Font Awesome operates primarily as a static asset delivery service, and does not use such data to track users across websites or to create behavioural profiles and processes data mainly through server-side logs and for purposes such as performance, security, and service optimisation.

However, as IP addresses constitute personal data under applicable data protection laws, the use of Font Awesome via a CDN may involve the processing and transfer of personal data to third parties, including possible transfers outside the European Economic Area.

Any transfer of personal data in connection with Font Awesome is carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and subject to appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

Where technically feasible, icon libraries may be hosted locally to minimise data transfers to third parties and enhance user privacy.

5.5. Technical & Geolocation

5.5.1. IPregistry (IP Geolocation)

We use IPregistry, a geolocation and threat intelligence service, to determine the approximate geographic location and network characteristics of users visiting our website.

IPregistry operates by analysing the IP address associated with a user’s device and providing information such as:

  • approximate location (e.g. country, region, city);
  • network and connection details (e.g. ISP, organisation, hosting provider);
  • device and user-agent information;
  • security-related indicators (e.g. whether the connection originates from a VPN, proxy, or other potentially high-risk source).

This information is used to optimise website functionality and localisation (e.g. language or regional settings) and to enhance security and fraud prevention as well as to analyse traffic patterns and improve user experience.

IPregistry does not rely on cookies as its primary mechanism, but instead processes data based on the IP address transmitted as part of standard internet communication. However, the user’s IP address is transmitted to IPregistry in order to perform the lookup.

Depending on the configuration, additional technical data (such as user-agent information or request metadata) may also be processed as part of the service.

IPregistry acts as a data processor on our behalf when processing IP-related data. The processing of personal data may involve transfers outside the European Economic Area, depending on infrastructure and service configuration.

Any such transfers are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and are subject to appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

IP-based geolocation services are used in a limited and proportionate manner and are not used to identify individual users or to create detailed user profiles.

5.5.2. Cloudflare (Content Delivery Network and Security Services)

We use Cloudflare, a content delivery network (CDN) and security service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., to improve the performance, security, and reliability of our website and digital services.

Cloudflare operates as an intermediary between users and our website, enabling faster delivery of website content through globally distributed servers, protection against cyber threats (e.g. DDoS attacks, bot traffic) and optimisation of network traffic and load balancing.

When you access our website, requests are routed through Cloudflare’s infrastructure. In this context, Cloudflare processes certain technical data, including:

  • IP address;
  • HTTP request data (e.g. requested pages, referrer URLs);
  • browser and device information (user agent);
  • connection and performance data (e.g. response status and timing).

This information is necessary to deliver website content efficiently and detect and mitigate security threats as well as ensure the stability and integrity of our services.

Cloudflare may also generate logs containing request and traffic data for operational, security, and analytical purposes.

Cloudflare may set certain strictly necessary cookies in connection with its security and infrastructure services. These cookies areessential for ensuring the proper functioning and security of the website. The cookies are not used for advertising or behavioural tracking and are typically short-lived (e.g. session-based or limited duration).

Cloudflare acts as a data processor on our behalf. As part of its global infrastructure personal data (including IP addresses) may be processed in or transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection laws and are subject to appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or recognised transfer mechanisms.

Cloudflare processes data solely for the purpose of providing infrastructure and security services and does not use such data for its own advertising or profiling purposes.
